How do I connect the PERIBOARD-817 to my computer using 2.4GHz or Bluetooth on Windows or macOS?
2.4GHz USB Connection
- Turn the keyboard’s power switch to “On.”
- Plug the USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
- Wait a few seconds for automatic pairing.
- If it doesn’t connect, try removing and reinserting the receiver
or restarting your computer.

Connecting via Bluetooth on Windows
- Turn the keyboard “On.”
- Press and hold the Bluetooth button for some seconds until it flashes
3 times.
- Enable Bluetooth if it’s off, go to Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices on
your PC.
- Then select Add a device.
- Look for Perixx PB-817 and add it.
- Click to pair. Once it’s connected, you’re ready to type.

Connecting via Bluetooth on macOS
- Turn the keyboard “On.”
- Press and hold the Bluetooth button for some seconds until it flashes
3 times.
- On your Mac, go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Bluetooth.
- Ensure Bluetooth is on, then select Perixx PB-817 from
the devices list.
- Click Connect.
If it doesn’t appear, turn the keyboard off and on again, then repeat.
What if the Keyboard Fails to Appear or Connect
- Remove Perixx PB-817 from
your device list if it’s already there.
- Turn the keyboard off, wait a moment, and turn it back on.
- Press and hold the Bluetooth button for 3 seconds to re-initiate
pairing.
- Refresh your Bluetooth settings and look for Perixx PB-817 again.
- If issues persist, restart your computer and repeat the steps.
Additional Tips
- Keep the keyboard within 10 meters (33 feet) of your computer.
- Avoid placing the USB receiver behind large metal objects.
- Make sure the keyboard’s battery is charged.
- Update or reinstall Bluetooth drivers if needed.
Do I need to install any drivers?
No. The PERIBOARD-817 is plug-and-play. Simply connect via the USB receiver or
pair via Bluetooth. Your computer should recognize it automatically. We do not
have any dedicated driver for PERIBOARD-817.
How do I charge the PERIBOARD-817?
- Plug in the USB-C Cable: Plug
in USB-C connector to your keyboard the connect the keyboard to a power source
(like a laptop USB port or wall adapter) using the provided USB-C to USB-A
cable.
- Check the Charging Light: A
red LED on the keyboard indicates it’s charging.
- Wait for Full Charge: The
red LED turns off once the keyboard is fully charged.
- Optimal Power Range: For
best charging speed, use a power source between 1.48W and 1.67W.

How do I switch between Windows and macOS layouts?
- Identify the Layout Keys: Look
for the Win key
and the Mac key
on your keyboard (Upper right).
Press the Appropriate Key:
- Win: Switches
the keyboard to Windows layout.
- Mac: Switches
the keyboard to macOS layout.
- Confirmation Light: All
four indicators on the keyboard will flash blue for about 3 seconds to confirm
the change.
What type of battery does the PERIBOARD-817 use, and how long does it last?
- PERIBOARD-817 uses a USB 2.0 rechargeable Li-Po battery (500mAh).
- Under typical use, the battery lasts up to 5 days.
- Charging current is up to 250mA, and a full charge takes about 2 hours.
Does the keyboard go into sleep mode automatically, and how do I wake it up?
- Yes. After 1 minute of inactivity, it enters a light sleep mode; after 10
minutes, it switches to deep sleep mode.
- To wake it, simply move your mouse or press any key on the keyboard.
How do I use the function (F) keys for multimedia and system controls?
- Multimedia/Shortcut Functions: By
default, pressing the top-row keys (F1–F12) trigger
actions like volume control, brightness adjustment, or mission control.
- Standard F1–F12 Commands: To
use the traditional F1–F12 commands, press and hold the Fn key,
then tap the desired function key.

Will it work with my tablet or smartphone?
Yes, as long as your device supports external keyboards via Bluetooth (e.g.,
iOS, Android, iPadOS). Pair it the same way you would on a computer.
What is the wireless range?
The PERIBOARD-817 generally works reliably up to 10 meters (33 feet). Keep it
within this range for the best connection, and avoid large metal objects that
could interfere with the signal.
How many Bluetooth devices can I pair at once?
Typically, you can pair the keyboard with multiple devices, but you can only
actively connect to one device at a time. Use the keyboard’s switching function
to move between paired devices seamlessly.
How to clean a Key on your keyboard?
- Unplug or turn off the keyboard.
- Identify the key causing the issue (e.g., the 'Y' key), then gently pry up
the key using a small, flat instrument (flat-head screwdriver) or
your nail. Insert the tool or your nail under the edge of the keycap and
carefully lift it up. Be gentle to avoid damaging the keycap or the switch.
- Use the swab to clean any sticky areas on and around the key switch. Make
sure to clean the underside of the keycap as well. If there is visible
debris, use a dry cotton swab or compressed air to remove it before using
the alcohol.
- Reinsert the key back into its original place by gently pressing it down
until it snaps back into place.
- Check the keys to see if the issue is resolved.
How to add the language layout on my keyboard?
1. Open Settings: Click on the Start menu, then select the "Settings" gear icon.
Alternatively, you can press Win + I on your keyboard to open Settings directly.
Navigate to Time & Language: In the Settings menu, click on “Time & language.”
2. Select Language & region: On the sidebar, click on “Language & region.”
Here you'll see the languages currently installed.
3. Add a Language: If the language you would like to add is not already listed:
Click on “Add a language.”

4. Search for and select the language you want. then, click "Next" and then "Install"
to add the language pack.

5. Configure Keyboard Layout: Once the language is added, click on the three
dots (…) next to it under the “Preferred languages” section.
6. Select “Language options.” Then, Under “Keyboards,” click “Add a keyboard”
and select the keyboard layout you prefer.

7. Switch Between Keyboard Layouts: You can switch between keyboard layouts by
clicking on the language icon in the taskbar (near the clock) or by using the
shortcut Win + Space to cycle through the available keyboard layouts.
PERIBOARD-422 won’t type after computer restart, what shall I do?
1. Test on Another Computer: To identify
the problem, try connecting the PERIBOARD-817 to another computer. This step
is crucial as it helps isolate the issue. If the keyboard works fine on another
system or computer, the problem might be with your original computer's hardware
or software configurations. However, if it doesn't work on any computer, the
keyboard itself might be faulty.
2. Direct Connection to Computer Ports:
Often, issues with USB devices can stem from unstable connections, especially
when using USB hubs or extension cables. Disconnect the PERIBOARD-817 from any
USB hubs or extension cables. Connect it directly to one of your computer's USB
ports. Preferably, use a USB port on the back of a desktop computer, as these
ports are directly connected to the motherboard and usually provide a more stable
connection than front-side ports or ports on laptops.
3. Check and Update Drivers: Remove any
previously installed keyboard drivers, then restart your computer. This can resolve
conflicts between the keyboard software and your system. For this process, go
to device manager and check the driver in Keyboards
- Select “Scan for hardware changes. This will allow your operating system to refresh the new hardware for plug and play.

- After refreshing the hardware list, please select “Update driver’ to check the any updates.

- Select the option “Search automatically for driver” check driver to update or reinstall for your operating system. After your operating system confirms to reinstall the driver, your mouse is confirmed that its driver is ready to operate.
How can I address issues like double letters on PERIBOARD-817 keyboard?
- To address issues like double letters on your keyboard, you can try the following
steps:
- Open Settings: Click on the Start menu, then select the "Settings" gear icon.
Alternatively, you can press Win + I on your keyboard to open Settings directly.
- Navigate to Ease of Access: In the Settings menu, click on “Ease of Access.”

- Scroll down the left side to find the "Keyboard" from "Interaction" section
in "Ease of Access."

- Please turn on "Ignore brief or repeated keystrokes and change keyboard repeat
rates" on "Use Filter Keys" section in Keyboard.

- Test the keyboard to see if the issue is resolved. If not, you can try cleaning
the keys.
